If you truly wish to create “The Now Effect”, do not skip this critical step. Your expenditure of money is too great, not to ensure a final dramatic effect. Always use a design board or concept board on any sort of Interior Design project.

  1. Understanding… the Principles of Layering Colors, Texture, and Effect

Think about it, almost everything that is appealing to stands out as the, was created with layers of Color, Texture, and Benefit. We love to look at things that incorporated the “Principles of Layering”.

Color and Texture are the tools you work with, and even Effect is that intangible that is generated when you bring the films together.

Think of the seasons, how in the Fall, the colors in a natural way compliment each other. If the wrong colors were introduced, you’d not have the same effect.

Your layers will include, your Surface Plan or Unique Spaces of Opportunity, Paint, Exotic Venetian Plaster, Faux Finish, Wallpaper, Ceiling Finish, Bottom, Fabrics, Furniture, Drapery, Lighting, Accessories, and Plants.
